Due to increased demand within Hull, Academics is currently recruiting passionate Cover Supervisors to work in our Secondary Schools. A Cover Supervisor is an experienced individual who is confident covering and managing a classroom while a Teacher is off on a short-term absence. You may work across several different subjects and age groups in the same day, so this role is ideally suited to someone who is flexible, not afraid to get stuck and can strike up instant rapport with students.
Maybe you are a Teaching Assistant looking to take the next step up, or you might even be studying to become a Qualified Teacher - this is the perfect role for you! Gain some all important in-class experience which is flexible around your studies.
Please note that UK-based experience within education is a MUST.

The responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor include but are not limited to:
- Covering pre-planned lessons across a multitude of subjects
- Managing the classroom and supervising pupils
- Helping pupils carry out pre-arranged tasks, work & exercises set out by the teacher
- Respond to pupil's questions and support with their work
- Collect all completed work at the end of the class to be passed on to the teacher for marking
- Report back to the teacher or staff about the behaviour of the class and work carried out according to the school's procedure and processes.
- Deal with any immediate issues such as emergencies in complete accordance with the school's procedures and policies.

Possible qualifications required are Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools, Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, or Level 3 Certificate in Cover Supervision of Pupils in Schools. These are desired but not essential.
